Not sure that is even legal and seems like tax fraud in the state of SC. They are also charging 13% Sales tax on liquor drinks. Resulted in the management crediting me $500 probably to keep me quiet with the other guests who were probably being robbed. Only for it to happen on EVERY bill I had on the trip. The management team at the front desk played dumb didn't know what to do and the manager then told it was under investigation. A $17 drink was marked up to $24 with add ons not listed on the menu. I have a very good sense of numbers and remember the prices of things I order. CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS! They are running a scam on their billing. The new GM has banned Ubers from coming down into the complex to pick people up so don't try to call one or schedule one for a return trip. Who knows what is true but all I know was I was trapped in their campus and they didn't offer me complimentary car service to Old Bluffton because their car service was down. Upon arrival they claimed all their cars were broken (4 of them). Don't waste your time with the concierge. Luckily I ended up meeting a nice person from the 3rd party "Outside Palmetto" company who was helpful. Concierge- totally lacking any knowledge and almost felt like they were arguing with me. This is a 3 star pool experience at best. Understaffed and overcrowded on weekends especially. Pool Service- totally lacking at both pool decks. The bar they market called hush is closed Sunday-Tuesday. Riverhouse was BEAUTIFUL and the service was very good, but again prices way too high for the portion sizes. Only 2 restaurants- Octagon is barely a 3 star resort but with higher prices and small portion sizes and we come from Manhattan where a sandwich is $18 now so for us to feel this way is hard.

I would highly recommend this property! I can’t wait to return!!īeautiful grounds, wonderful staff all around, but left the hotel feeling like I had been taken advantage of, which in speaking to my driver on the way home seems to be a normal occurrence with guests. We also enjoyed going into Bluffton for something a little different. So beautiful! The restaurant options in the Palmetto Bluff area and at the hotel were terrific. You feel like you are at a gorgeous home, not a hotel. Plenty of little fun seating areas- they have fire pits outside. We enjoyed being in the main Inn for the convenience to everything. The room was quiet, had every amenity you needed or wanted. From the front desk, restaurant, concierge team, housekeeping, bellman, shuttle drivers, pool attendants- every single one of them was absolutely wonderful!! Our room was lovely- we opted for the Inn King Balcony. Was literally sad to say good-bye to them. Every single employee was friendly, greeted us by name, proud of their hotel, helpful with suggestions- amazing staff. The service at Montage Palmetto Bluff is 6 stars PLUS!!! It was better than most 5 star properties. Our 6 day stay at Montage Palmetto Bluff was absolutely perfect! I am comparing the resort to our most recent vacation stays at the Ocean House in Watch Hill and the Villa D’Este in Lake Como- which those are both exceptional.
